AMVETS Department of Ohio

To enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy and services.

The AMVETS National Service Foundation traveled to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii for the dedication of an AMVETS Memorial.  The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific contains a memorial pathway that is lined with a variety of memorials that honor America’s veterans from various organizations. As of 2008, there were 56 such memorials throughout the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific—most commemorating soldiers of 20th-century wars, including those killed at Pearl Harbor.

National Service Foundation President PNC Bill Boettcher also placed a wreath at the USS Arizona in remembrance of those we lost on December 7, 1941.

National officers from Ohio at the dedication were (L-R) PNC Joe Piening, National JA Joe Sulzer, PNC Bill Boettcher, National FO Bill Noltner, Jr., and PNC John P. Brown III
